A general introduction of APMP's annual GA week activities

APMP has two meeting weeks annually, the Week of General Assembly and Related Activities, and the Mid-year Meetings Week.

The General Assembly and Related Activities Week is the major annual event of APMP. It is usually held in November or December and includs the following meetings and some social activities:
  • General Assembly (GA)
  • Executive Committee (EC) Meeting
  • Meetings of 11Technical Committees (TCs) and the Ad-hod Working Group for Materials Metrology (WGMM)
  • Developing Economies’ Committee (DEC) Meeting
  • Symposium
  • Satellite meetings and workshops organzed by TCs
  • Technical tour

The Mid-year Meetings Week is a another gathering of APMP managerial staff. They meet between annual GAs to discuss important issues and ensure the smooth progress of APMP activities. Main activities include a EC meeting, a EC-TCC Joint Meeting, a TC Chairs meeting, and a DEC meeting.

The activities of APMP will be decided by the APMP General Assembly (GA). GA meets once a year to review and discuss the aims and specific tasks of APMP. The General Assembly itself decides upon its rules of procedure. The General Assembly elects the Chairperson from its Full Members.

GA is attended by Representatives of all APMP member economies as well as invited representatives from the associate stakeholder organizations. The Representatives of each Full Member economy will nominate one Delegate who will be entitled to vote on behalf of that economy. Each economy can have only one Delegate.
